Using Trikon
The short version
- Trikon shows you how different outlets covered the same story. It never tells you who is right.
- Our Left / Centre / Right labels are opinion, not fact. You can challenge any of them.
- Headlines and images belong to the outlets that published them. We always link back.
- Reader-submitted reports are unverified. They are the submitter’s claim, not ours.
What Trikon is
Trikon aggregates and compares news published by others. We show headlines, short extracts and links, grouped by story and by where each outlet sits on a Left–Right scale.
We author some things ourselves and are responsible for them: our outlet leaning ratings, our coverage comparisons, the “Andekha” coverage-gap flags, and our ownership register. We do not author the news articles themselves, and we do not verify the claims inside them.
We do not adjudicate the truth
Trikon makes no finding that any story, claim or outlet is true or false. Where a claim is contested we link to independent fact-checkers so you can check it yourself. Nothing on Trikon should be read as a statement that an outlet has reported something falsely.
Leaning ratings are opinion
Each outlet carries a leaning label on a −3 to +3 scale, seeded where possible from Media Bias/Fact Check and cited on the methodology page. These are subjective editorial assessments offered as opinion and honest comment, not statements of fact about any outlet, journalist or owner. They are contestable by design — readers can vote, and you can write to us to challenge any rating.
Factual-reporting labels shown beside an outlet are Media Bias/Fact Check’s published assessments, reproduced with a link to their page, not Trikon’s own conclusions.
“Andekha” means something specific
An Andekha flag means Trikon found no coverage of a story on one side within the feeds it reads, in the period it checked. Outlets publish far more than their RSS feeds carry, and feeds sometimes fail. It is a prompt to go and look, not a finding about any outlet’s editorial choices.
Headlines, extracts and images
Headlines, short extracts and thumbnail images remain the property of the outlets that published them. They are shown for the purpose of reporting current events, and of criticism and review of that coverage, under fair dealing (Section 52, Copyright Act 1957). Every item links to its source. We host no full articles. If you are a publisher and want your material removed, write to us and we will act promptly.
Reader-submitted reports
Our data-centre page lets residents describe what they are experiencing. These reports are unverified claims by the people who submit them, published so communities can be heard. They are not Trikon’s statements and we do not endorse them.
When you submit a report you confirm it is your own honest observation. Do not submit anything false, abusive, or defamatory; do not name private individuals; and do not include anyone else’s personal contact details. We may remove any report at our discretion, and we will remove content on a valid court order or government notification within the time the law requires.
If you are named in a report and believe it is false, write to our Grievance Officer — see the Privacy page for contact details. We acknowledge within 24 hours.
Acceptable use
Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, attempt to break or probe it, or reproduce large parts of it as your own product. Linking to us, quoting us with attribution, and sharing our pages are all welcome.
No warranty, and limits
Trikon is provided for information, free of charge, and as-is. Feeds fail, publishers change their sites, and automated grouping is imperfect. We do not guarantee that the service is complete, accurate or available at any given moment, and you should not rely on it as your only source. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the site.
Corrections and takedowns
We would rather fix something than argue about it. If a rating, an ownership entry, a comparison or a report is wrong, tell us: we acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days. Rating changes are recorded in a public change log that we never delete from.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.
